Asks Customers To Participate As Well.
Bath and body products bound for the troops in the Middle East?
"Why not?" asks Joanna Schmidt, founder and president of Tequesta-based handmade bath and body product company Product Body.
"We were having a company meeting thinking about the fourth of July coming up, and someone suggested that it would be great if we could do something for the troops serving overseas. We all looked at each other and thought, well, why not?"
So Product Body decided to put together a care package of some of their most popular handmade body products to ship to troops stationed in the Middle East.
"Anyone would want to try and make our servicemen and women's lives a little more like home if they could; we're lucky enough to have that opportunity, that's all," says Ms. Schmidt. "Once we realized it was something we wanted to do, it took on a life of its own and we decided to give our customers a way to help out as well."
To provide that opportunity to customers, for the month of July, every time a customer spends over forty dollars on their website, Product Body will add one item to the care package. Customers will also have their name included on the letter to troops, as well as a personal message if they wish.
"Sometimes it's easy to overlook the value of simple things we take for granted," said Ms. Schmidt. "We just hope that getting some nice skin care and bath product will give people stationed far from home a moment of relaxation and pleasure."
Product Body will be shipping the care package at the end of the summer. If you'd like to help add to the box, you can visit their site at
