Community Foundation Awards $10,600 Grant to The River Center

Jupiter, Florida -- The Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, Inc. recently awarded a $10,600 grant to The River Center toward the creation of the new environmental center's Wild & Scenic River exhibit. This is exhibit is the largest exhibit featuring a 1,800 gallon freshwater aquarium that details the main channel of the river and its floodplains. The graphic panels and a video, supported by this grant, will explain the importance and function of our wetland environments.

Scheduled to open this summer, The River Center presents an exciting exploration of the Loxahatchee River. Three-dimensional presentations lead guests through the river's unique habitats, colorful history, diverse wildlife, and explain the river's environmental value to our community. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to learn where their water comes from, how it is consumed and how it is recycled back into the environment and the community. There are multi-media and live aquatic exhibits, and even a touch tank filled with aquatic life.

The River Center is located at 805 North U.S. Highway One in Jupiter at Burt Reynolds Park.
