On Tuesday, May 6, 2008, the Town of Jupiter Utilities Department honored the winners of the 2008 Drop Savers Poster Contest. The annual contest is held in celebration of National Drinking Water Week (May 4, 2008 to May 10, 2008), and challenges Jupiter area students to create a design that portrays a water conservation theme. Judges sort through hundreds of entries, and assign first place through honorable mention to five different grade divisions. First place honorees this year areKenzie Matevia, Krystal Ann McGee, Dana Reger, Madison Bausinger, and Jessica Lennon. Each first place winner from the Jupiter contest was also entered into the state competition.
The winners reception was Tuesday, May 6th at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall. Prizes include a plaque displaying an image of the winner's poster, US Savings Bonds and various gifts. Following the reception, students were presented with their awards by Mayor Karen Golonka during the 7:00 PM Town Council meeting.
The 2008 Drop Savers Poster Contest winning designs are part of the current exhibit at the Jupiter Gallery of Art, located on the second floor of Town Hall. The winning posters may also be viewed on the Town's website at
