The Criminal Justice Academy at Jupiter Community High School is an academic and career-preparation program for students serious about a career in law enforcement or criminal justice. The four year program is offered in partnership with the Town of Jupiter Police Department, which provides a unique opportunity for students to access expert local law enforcement knowledge. Courses, experience labs and training will be offered at the High School and at the neighboring Jupiter Police Department facility, which will offer students access to a Nationally and State Accredited police department equipped and staffed with investigative, crisis management, and crime prevention personnel and equipment.
The Criminal Justice Academy program is focused on an academic curriculum that creates a foundation for students interested in pursuing law enforcement and criminal justice careers. The core curriculum alone is equal to 9 college credits at Palm Beach Community College, and students have the opportunity to participate in exciting internships that prepare them for college or job opportunities immediately after graduation.
Interested students need to act fast in order to be considered for the new Criminal Justice Academy. Applications and additional information can be obtained through the Jupiter Police Department web site:
