Record breaking amount raised to support the fight against cancer
PGA National's Women's Cancer Awareness Day (CAD) Committee announced that the third annual event raised $95,000 to benefit Jupiter Medical Center's Ella Milbank Foshay Cancer Center and the Daniel E. Searle Clinical Trials Access Program. Last year, $70,000 was raised - a testament to the growing success and popularity of this event.
More than 430 participants enjoyed an action-packed day of activities that featured golf, tennis, bridge and croquet, in support of local access to cutting edge, clinical research trials for the community at Jupiter Medical Center. Members of the dedicated CAD Committee who coordinated the event include: Elaine Solomon, Co-Chair for the third consecutive year; Barbara Chapin and Barbara Sedransk, also Co-chairs. "On behalf of the Committee, we are so grateful for PGA National Resort and Spa, the generous community and all of the participants involved in making this year's event such a success," said Solomon. "Cancer touches all of us and we are fortunate to play a role in making the lives of cancer patients a little better by funding important clinical research."
"Jupiter Medical Center sincerely appreciates the community's efforts to support our world class comprehensive cancer care program, helping us continue to make cutting edge treatment available locally so our patients do not have to travel outside of the area for access to clinical research trials," said Paul Dell Uomo, Jupiter Medical Center CEO.
The announcement arrived just in time for the "Road Map to Living Well" Health and Fitness Fair that Jupiter Medical Center hosted in conjunction with the CAD Committee on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at PGA National Resort and Spa.
