Members and friends of the Loyal Order of Moose - District 5 plan to ride, rock and roll for a cause throughout Palm Beach County on Sunday, May 4th in support of local children. The 8th Annual Moose Charity Poker Run will include bikers revving up their engines from the Lake Worth to Palm Beach Gardens Lodges, with club stops along the way to select playing cards. Winning hands will be awarded cash prizes at the final Gardens Lodge barbecue which will feature music by the popular local band, "Cold Iron".
Children's Home Society of Florida's (CHS) South Coastal Division is one of the organization's designated charities. Included in the daylong event will be a grand prize drawing of a trip for two on Southwest Airlines. Airline ticket sale proceeds will go to CHS' 13 programs serving children and families in Palm Beach County.
According to Poker Run Coordinator Chris Nichols, it's a way of giving back to the public and a good one at that. "Moose members have always had a heart for charities and for children in particular," Nichols says, adding "we're very excited to once again work with CHS as they continue to serve the abused, abandoned and neglected children of Palm Beach County."
