April 28, 2008 Jupiter, Florida-MAINSTREET Youth Services recently hosted its first annual spring fundraising event.
The event, underwritten by the Gardens Mall Chick-Fil-A, was held at The Resort At Singer Island. Music was provided by a jazz quartet comprised of students from the Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts. In addition to the evening's festivities, a silent auction was held. Aution items were donated by: Absolute Wellness Spa, Barefoot Yoga, Curves on Prosperity Farms, Five Guys, Glorious Gifts, Hurricane Cafe, JJ Muggs Stadium Grill, MK Leatherworks, Moe's Southwest Grill, Rooney's Public House, Slingshot Distribution, Starbucks of Abacoa, The Honda Classic and The Resort at Singer Island.
A presentation was made by MAINSTREET Executive Director Brent Maloney who spoke about the organization's mission and the impact it is making in the lives of area youth. Maloney also spoke of the importance in moving forward with a planned youth entertainment and mentoring facility and how it will enhance and strengthen not only MAINSTREET's existing programs but programs sponsored by other local youth organizations as well, citing the success of similar programs nationwide.
Commenting the event's success, Maloney stated, "It's really exciting to see the community embracing the idea that, if we respond sooner rather than later, we can provide love and hope for a lot of young people who are facing some extremely difficult challenges. I really believe that this event helped those in attendance achieve a better grasp of what we're working to accomplish, and how they can be a part of the solution."
Several individuals and organizations pledged finacial contributions and support, including, First Liberty Mortgage Company who pledged 100% of the company's commissions generated through MAINSTREET Youth Services.
Mainstreet Youth Services is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a drug-free, alcohol-free facility where area teens can participate in activities in an active and interactive entertainment venue. MAINSTREET's mission is to help teens and mentors form strong relationships in a culturally relevant environment while helping young people find their purpose in life.
