That soft-spoken voice. The sweater and shoe changes. The kind people in the neighborhood. All those fond images come quickly to mind when we think of the children's show, Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. Fred Rogers was a very special man.
On Sunday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. another special person is coming to our Jupiter neighborhood. Author Tim Madigan is coming to St. Peter Catholic Church to discuss his popular book,
"I'm Proud of You - My Friendship with Fred Rogers." "IPOY", as it has come to be known, reveals their life-changing friendship which began in 1995 when Tim profiled the children's show icon for a Ft. Worth, Texas newspaper. You won't want to miss this opportunity.
The event will be held in the Parish Hall on the St. Peter campus, located at 1701 Indian Creek Parkway, Jupiter. Tickets are $10.00 each with all proceeds benefitting Boys Town South Florida (www.boystown.org). Refreshments and a raffle for exciting prizes will be held. Free childcare will be provided by trained, qualified staff.
