Go van Gogh and Chris' Crusaders partner to fight breast cancer!

Join Chris' Crusaders Making Strides Against Breast Cancer team on Friday, July 11 from 5-10 pm at Go van Gogh, AbacoaTownCenter at 1200 Town Center Drive, Suite 117, Jupiter, FL. Enjoy the evening as you create your own piece of art while doing your part in the fight against breast cancer. With 178,000 people diagnosed in 2007, breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer among women.

Go van Gogh has generously partnered with Chris' Crusaders who are determined to raise both money and awareness of breast cancer. Go van Gogh will donate a portion of the proceeds on Friday, July 11 from 5-10pm to Chris' Crusaders fundraising efforts. "Go van Gogh is always pleased to help our community, but is especially honored to host Chris' Crusaders Making Strides Against Breast Cancer team fundraiser to help fight breast cancer", states Diane Leach, Go van Gogh manager.

Chris Collins, Team Leader states, "I participated in the October 2007 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk with and in honor of her Aunt Alice Klimas, a breast cancer survivor. Three days later, at age 37, I found a lump in my breast and was diagnosed with breast cancer. I have since undergone a bilateral mastectomy and five months of chemotherapy. Six weeks of radiation, a year of the drug herceptin (developed with American Cancer Society funding) and a second reconstructive surgery will complete my treatment".

The 2008 American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, to be held at City Place in West Palm Beach on Saturday October 18 th is a non-competitive 5K walk that encourages participation from men, women and children of all ages.

The walk, which will take place in many cities across the country, is organized in order to make progress towards a future when no one will ever be diagnosed with breast cancer. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer raises money for groundbreaking research, free breast cancer programs, lodging for patients, emotional support, and assistance during treatments.

Team Chris' Crusaders has a team goal to raise at least $20,000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer before the October 18, 2008 event. Please join our team and help us reach our goal.
