At the Jupiter Business and Professional Women's meeting held at Mangrove Bay Monday, April 28, 2008, the officers for 2008-2009 were installed. The officers for the new year are: President, Patricia Persante, 1 st Vice President, Andrea Johnson, 2 nd Vice President, Nicole Payne, Recording Secretary, Deb Rasmussen and Treasurer, Nancy Robinson. Past President and BPW/FL National Foundation Chair, Peggy Sutton performed the installation. The theme of 2008-2009 is "Weaving the Strands of Advocacy, Education and Information."
Business and Professional Women/USA, founded in 1919, promotes equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. With 30,000 members in more than 1,600 Local Organizations represented in every congressional district in the country, BPW/USA includes among its members women and men of every age, race, religion, political party and socio-economic background. BPW's local organizations sponsor Signature Conferences, Events, and Programs that benefit local communities, aid in the personal and professional development of young women, and raise awareness of issues affecting workingwomen, such as economic equity for women, health care and domestic violence.
