This week the children at Temple Beth Am Preschool in Jupiter are learning about patriotism and America's freedom. The oohs and aahs, giggles (and horn-blowing) could be heard coming from the portico as the children climbed through the humvees that the Marines from the 4th Anglico (4th Air Naval Gunfire Liason Company), in West Palm Beach brought as part of their first-ever presentation to preschool children. Inside the school the five Marines set up one of the tents in which they live when they are on assignment. They also brought all the gear they wear whenever they are out in the field. They showed the children each item and explained its' importance. A special Fourth of July snack was shared with these special young men. They spent some time with the children in their classrooms, reading books to them and sharing some of their Marines'"field food": pound cake, cookies and cranberries. Preschool Director, Paula Deakter couldn't say enough good things about these young men and the positive impression they made on all of the children. Two of the Marines were asked if there was a special moment or event that remains so special in their memories that they will never forget? This is what you, the 4th Air Naval Gunfire Liason Company of West Palm Beach did for our children today. No doubt, some day our children will share with their children the wonderful day they had at summer camp when the Marines came to visit. To Anthony, Mike, Richard, Nelson and Lou; we were and are, honored by your presence. Thank you for your fine example and the love and kindness you shared with our children. Most of all, thank you to you and to all of the members of each and every branch of the military for giving of yourselves to protect our country and our freedom. Your sacrifice is unimaginable and priceless. You are an inspriration and you make us proud to be in America!
