It's once again "Back to School Time" and the Kiwanis Club of Jupiter-Tequesta has come to the aid of local elementary school children needing school supplies.
Three years ago, it came to the attention of local Kiwanians that some area children were starting the school year without the tools they need. For the third time in as many years, members of the Jupiter-Tequesta Kiwanis Club have stepped in to fill that need.
Realizing that this was going to be an ongoing project, the Kiwanis Club has budgeted funds for the "School Box Program" to fill this need. During the summer months, members gather the necessary supplies a child needs to begin the school year, and just before the start of the school year members assemble and box the necessary supplies. This year the assembling of the school boxes and supplies took place on Saturday, August 15th.
There are age appropriate Kiwanis Clubs in all three levels of public schools (K-Kids in Elementary School, Builders Club in Middle School, and Key Club in High School.) This year members of the Independence Middle School Builders Club assisted Kiwanis Club members assembling the school boxes.
