Fran Ahlbin - A Longtime Friend of Jupiter
Contributed by: diane kimes on 11/29/2007

The Jupiter Medical Center (JMC) Foundation and everyone in the Jupiter Medical Center family are saddened to learn of the recent passing of Mrs. Fran Ahlbin, a longtime supporter and benefactor to the Medical Center. Fran was the beloved wife of Mr. Fred Ahlbin, who predeceased his spouse in 2005.

Mr. and Mrs. Ahlbin were devoted and generous leaders in the philanthropic efforts of the JMC Foundation, with Mr. Ahlbin serving as its Founder and Chairman Emeritus. They leave behind a legacy much more than a name on a building on our campus.

Mrs. Ahlbin was truly an inspirational force in the community and served in the early formative years of Jupiter Medical Center as The Pink and White Ball Chair in 1979, the Hospital's inaugural year, as well as in 1980. This event still lives on as it approaches its 32nd year and continues to remain as one of the premier social events in northern Palm Beach County. "Her kindness and thoughtfulness will be missed, but her imprint on this Medical Center will last for years to come," said Diane Kimes, Director of Development.

"Mrs. Ahlbin stood tirelessly by her husband's side as they supported so loyally and diligently to help make our community hospital a world-class institution," said Sid Carter, JMC Board Chairman.

"Fran Ahlbin was a great citizen of this community and of Jupiter Medical Center," said Larry Parker, Foundation Board Member. "She was a tireless and gracious advocate for excellence in all that we do."

"All of the members of the Jupiter Medical Center family express our deepest sympathy to the Ahlbin family. Fran and Fred are in our thoughts and prayers this day and always," said CEO Paul Dell Uomo.

"Fran's was the first voice for progress, and the last word for compassion. Together with Fred, their generosity elevated everyone and everything around them, and their impact will be felt for generations to come, "said Tom Pledger, Foundation Chairman. "But more importantly, I will miss a dear friend who touched our lives in a very special way."
