Paddle Adventure Camp
Trapper Nelsons on The Loxahatchee River, Peanut Island, Indian River Lagoon, Coral Cove Park, Riverbend Park and The Jupiter Inlet were the venues for last week's Adventure Camp at The Jupiter Outdoor Center. "This is what makes the Adventure Camp different from our on-going camp program", explains JOC Founder Rick Clegg. "We take 5-6 young people, ages 14-16, to several remote locations by motor boat with kayaks and paddleboards in tow, or we kayak and motor back." Captain Bill Gibson says "It's all about having the kids experience nature at its best and having them be awed and challenged." Bryan Ben Eliyahu, one of the adventure campers, said "It was a big accomplishment to paddle out the inlet, we even saw a shark up at Coral Cove and we learned how to paddle standing up on a board-it was awesome!"
