STUART, FL - Golfers from across the nation played in the 14th Annual Molly's House Golf Tournament, Friday, March 28 at The Yacht and Country Club, Stuart. A full field of players supported the tournament. Everyone was a winner during the two day event.
Over one hundred and fifty players and sponsors were treated to a Cocktail Reception at The Yacht and Country Club on Thursday evening. The festivities included plenty of food, libations and fun! Auctioneer Bob Erickson helped to raise nearly $20,000 from the live and silent auction. Player and sponsors received a mini clinic from LPGA Player Maggie Will and had the opportunity to put their skills to work on a mini putting green sponsored by the Florida Lottery.
Those who participated in the silent and live auction had plenty of great gifts to bid on . . . vacation packages, golf outings, GoodYear Blimp Rides, NAPA Tool box full of tools, Disney tickets, sports activities and dining certificates.
The Golf Tournament is the only major fundraiser for the "House". For the two day event $70,000 plus was raised to continue providing lodging for families of patients receiving medical care on the Treasure Coast. The House is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is run mainly by volunteers.
Major sponsors of the tournament included Toyota of Stuart, Treasure Coast Harley Davidson, Northern Trust, Wachovia, Gulfstream Business Bank, Seacoast National Bank, First Peoples Bank, Armellini Express Lines, Ms. Barbara Trimble, Cummins Power South, Florida Utility Trailers, Harris, Cotherman, Jones, Price & Associates, Mark Brechbill, SPA's, Martin Memorial Health Systems, Dr. Mike Sohl, DDS, Park Pharmacy, Pine Orchard Builders, Sunbelt Transport Refrigeration, Thermal Dynamics, Thermo King, Transportation Equipment of Florida, Utility Trailer Sales & Leasing, Wilmington Trust. Our raffle sponsor was Golf Gear.
The raffle winner of the custom set of Golf Clubs was John Glowniak from Michigan.
Longest Drive winners were Kevin Cerulli and Kathy OLeary. Closest to the Pin winners were Susan Stockfish and Michael Pytlak.
Molly's House is a community based organization that provides temporary lodging for families and patients receiving medical care on the Treasure Coast of Florida. For more information about Molly's House visit our website at www.mollyshouse.org.
