Jupiter Outdoor Center had a great first session of Kayak & Stand Up Paddleboard camp last week! Kids from 7-14 enjoyed a week of paddling on the Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve. They were introduced to Stand Up Paddleboarding and loved it...JOC is the only facility on the East Coast that can accomodate an entire summer camp on paddleboards, thanks to John Denney and East Coast Paddlesurfing. The campers spent one morning cleaning up the banks of the river, and collected a large amount of debris...the winner of the most garbage collected was rewarded with a tee-shirt donated by Ocean Magic.
Some moms tried Stand Up Paddleboarding after dropping off the kids, with a lesson from Bari Denney.
The kids are learning paddling skills that will last a lifetime, as well as learning about valuable lessons about nature, including how the tides and weather effect any trip plans on the water.
