Underwater at Coral Cove Park
Contributed by: William Djubin on 8/4/2008

Coral Cove Park sits on the south end of Jupiter Island. It is located in the Town of Tequesta and operated by the Palm Beach County Parks system.
As a citizen of Jupiter and a fan of Coral Cove Park, We ( EarthRehab) are promoting this reef ecosystem to become managed and protected for its diversity and nursery capabilities. Terms MMA or MPA.
Southeast Florida Coral Reef Initiative (DEP/NOAA) also would very much like to include this stretch of reef in its management plan for the future.
Why?
Snook, Manatees, Nudibranch, Octopus, Sea Turtles, Sharks, Parrotfish, Cuttlefish, other Tropical Reef Fishes, and Coral live here year round.
On my last 2 visits to Coral Cove Park I was able to photograph these 2 species, a 12-foot Nurse Shark and a Horned Reef Octopus.
Coincidentally I did shoot a 6-foot Bull shark but my hands would not stop shaking.
EarthRehab will be seeking Divers/volunteers to assist with a Coral Reef Mapping and Monitoring project to begin early next year.

Contact William at EarthRehab for more information.
