FORT PIERCE - St. Lucie County Parks and Recreation Department will host Basic Dog Obedience Classes at the Fort Pierce Community Center starting Monday, June 2 from 7 - 8 p.m.

Held every Monday through June 30, participants will learn how to teach their dog basic commands such as sit, stay, wait at the door, stop jumping, come when called, walk nicely on a leash and more.

The cost to participate is $100 for the five-week session. Treats will be used to lure and reward dogs, so be prepared to bring lots of small, soft treats each week.

The Fort Pierce Community Center is located at 600 N. Indian River Drive. To register call Becky Douglas at (772) 971-0924.
