Your Dog’s New Year’s Resolutions
Contributed by: Tracy McCord on 12/28/2007

As we usher in 2008, your dogs want you to know something. They want to go to daycare. Here are a few things that your dogs would tell you if they could.

1. She wants to get more exercise. Daycare provides an excellent opportunity for dogs to exercise and burn off extra energy. This not only keeps a pet in good physical condition but it also allows the pet owner to enjoy an evening of peace and quiet.

2. He wants to meet new dogs. Daycareencourages dogs to socialize in a safe and well supervised environment. A socialized dog can be taken to more places and is often better behaved in new surroundings.

3. She wants to feel comfortable when she's away from home. If daycare is done prior to boarding your pet, your pet will learn to identify the dog daycare as a safe place where he or she can play, rest and relax thereby dramatically decreasing his or her stress levels when their owners are away. Owners receive an added benefit of reducing their guilt about leaving their friends behind when they know their pets are having fun.

So this year, make a commitment to your pets. Give them a dog's day out and they'll love you more for it.
