Contributed by: Terri Neil on 11/3/2006

After months of renovations the Maltz Jupiter Theatre is looking better than ever. And what does anyone do after renovating? They decorate with great works of art! The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is proud to announce the addition of the new Gallery Hall.

The Gallery Hall, located inside of the north side of the theatre's auditorium, is a new concept that will be featured throughout the year and will showcase both local and nationally known artists. This first must see show, "Art and Music that Touches the Soul," a partnership with the Artists Showcaseof the Palm Beaches opens on Wednesday, November 28. The show will feature artist Danny Simmons, brother of Def Comedy's own Russell Simmons; Loutonia Gary, sister to Stuart lawyer and philanthropist Willie Gary; local artists Anthony Burks, Jonathon Knight, Lupe Lawrence, Peter Marshall and Gillian Kennedy Wright.

The artwork showcased in this first exhibition will be available for purchase and proceeds will fund after school programs for at risk children through the Historic Jenkins House and Artists Showcase of the Palm Beaches.

"As we always say, "We are theatre and more!" Adding a visual art element really rounds out our mission to be a true cultural facility," said Peter Croken, Executive Director of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. "The theatre is proud to be able to showcase visual artists' work and to partner with the Artists Showcase for our first exhibition is quite an honor."

"Art and Music that Touches the Soul" will be held from November 28 th to December 10 th throughout the running of the theatre's much anticipated production of Ain't Misbehavin'. Exhibit hours will be in conjunction with Ain't Misbehavin's performance schedules Tuesday through Friday 7 pm - 10 pm; Wednesday and Saturday 1:30 pm - 10 pm and Sunday 1:30 - 5:30 pm.

The next exhibit will feature quilt art and will run during A Christmas Story December 19 through 30.
