J.R. Houbrick Exhibit Runs Through December 21
An artist's reception on November 15 at Florida Atlantic University's John D. MacArthur Campus gave art lovers a chance to meet Loxahatchee artist J. R. Houbrick and view a collection of some of his recent work.
The exhibition, titled "Personal Tales... A Journey of the Mind," runs through December 21 at the university's Student Resources Atrium, located at 5353 Parkside Drive in Jupiter. Atrium hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Guests at the reception included students, faculty and art lovers from around Palm Beach County, all of whom were impressed by the eclectic works on display. "It is truly a joy to have Mr. Houbrick's work on display," said Terry Gearing, Director of University Relations. "And the fact that he is an FAU graduate makes it even more special." Houbrick earned both his Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts from FAU and now teaches art at Binks Forest Elementary School in Wellington.
