JUPITER BEACH EXPANDING..PHASE II NEARS COMPLETION
Contributed by: Rich Albert on 4/15/2008

....THE JUPITER BEACH SUNRISE NEWS, April 15, 2008, brings you an expanding Jupiter Beach. Today the sunrise came at 6:56 AM while the birds sang there songs.

....Phase II of the beach restoration has been in progress since April 2 and will be completed by the end of this month. There are seven photos in this story depicting the progress to date.

....Phase II of the restoration begins at the Jupiter Inlet. This is were dredging of the Intracoastal Waterway is underway. From this point the sand is piped along the Jupiter Beaches. It is now being deposited at Ocean Trails condos and The Jupiter Beach Resort.

....This is a welcome sight to all the residence along the beach and everyone who enjoys the Jupiter Beach. The bulldozers and track hoe are hard at work bringing everyone an expanded beach. Thank you Florida Inland Navigation District. This will make the inlet as deep as 16 feet.

....The dredging of the inlet is done about every three years. Now the sand is being used to expand our beach in Jupiter. Now you can walk on a dry beach where you were swimming in three feet of water.

....It has been said that more sand has been put on the Jupiter Beach than has been in 20 years. Instead of stepping onto the beach and being hit by the surf. Now you can walk onto the beach and enjoy the beauty of the sunrise coming over the horizon.

....Just like the Universe is expanding, now the Jupiter Beach Is Expanding !!!! The scientific data to date confirms the Universe is constantly expanding. It would be nice if the Jupiter Beach would do the same. At least we can hope for the beach to remain the same size. Hope, at times, does become reality.

....Two weeks weeks ago "The Sunrise Guy" would have been standing in water above his knees taking these photos. Now we can all be closer to the horizon while catching the sunrise with not even a drop of salt water touching our bodies. I am referring to our camera bodies. I think we all agree that the salt water will not damage a human body for a short period of time.
