Sunrise Guy brings you "Today's Sunrise" from Jupiter, Florida. Today, Wednesday 07-29-09, a jack-up barge 350 feet off shore was captured just south of the Jupiter Inlet, minutes after sunrise. This $2 million barge is a research vessel dealing for dollars and looking for gold.
For many weeks to come divers will use this vessel to uncover treasures from the Spanish galleon San Miguel Archangel, which sank here about 350 years ago. So far 14,000 coins and other treasures have been discovered from the galleon. This vessel is owned by Jacksonville-based Amelia Research.
The three legs are lowered to the surface below to lift this vessel and keep it stationary. It is moved periodically to recover the vast treasures that lie below. The fishermen love it, because it stirs up everything below and attracts bait fish, which attracts other larger species of fish. Let's go fishing, now everybody is fishing, down at the Jupiter beach today!
The second image to this story was captured on Thursdays morning, 07-30-09, as an white egret overlooks the three legged barge rising above the sea. Let's go fishing for gold says the egret, as he looks on.
