MOON BEFORE DAWN
Contributed by: Rich Albert on 9/5/2009

"Today's Sunrise" on Saturday 09-05-09 brings you "Moon Before Dawn" in the Jupiter Florida morning sky. The moon set over the eastern Jupiter horizon at 7:48 am.

This image was captured at 6:28 am before dawn. The tree branch was brought into focus with the moon about 240,000 miles behind it. The placed, overlay, image of the moon in the left of this image was taken seconds after the first and brought into focus. Think of this image looking through the eyes of a person with one eye out of focus, except for the tree branch.

Capture was with a Nikon D-300 at f/8 and a focal distance of 750mm. The lens used was a Nikon 500mm reflex mirror lens. The sensor factor of 1.5 captured the image at 750mm with an ISO of 100.

For a larger higher resolution image of "Moon Before Dawn" go to www.SaltarPhoto.com and click onto Today's Sunrise. There the images will fill your monitor. Everyday the sunrise, moonrise, sunset, moonset, or images along the beaches of Jupiter are featured with an accompanied story under "Today's Sunrise."
