"Today's Sunrise" brings you sunrise and moonset on Labor Day 2009. Today is Monday September 7, 2009. The sunrise came at 7:02 am over the eastern Jupiter Florida horizon. The moon set over the western horizon of Jupiter at 9:39 am. And for those interested; the planet Jupiter rose above the Jupiter Florida horizon at 6:11 pm and it set at 5:11 am this morning in Jupiter Florida.
The top image was shot minutes after sunrise this morning at 7:06 am. The sun was breaking through the thick clouds on the horizon. Taken with a Nikon D-300 atop a Gitzo tripod at f/8, 1/250 second, a focal length of 97mm and set to ISO 100.
The bottom image was shot at 6:53 am looking west towards the full moon. The sunrise bounced light, from the east, into the western sky as the moon was setting over the horizon. The second (bottom) image was captured with a Nikon D-300 atop a Gitzo tripod. The aperture was open to f/8, the exposure was 1/8 second, the focal length 37mm, and the ISO was 100.
In the top (first) image is Labor Day morning at sunrise in Jupiter. In the bottom (second) image you see the moon setting in the western sky. The time elapsed between these two images is 13 minutes.
