Dear Editor,
I'm not sure who to commend for this priceless act and hopefully you can let me know who should get recognition for this one. I'm not sure if I this officer works for the Jupiter Police Department or the Sheriff's Office.
I want everyone in Jupiter to know about this so hopefully you can print my letter.
Last week (Wednesday, January 30th) our son who is in the second grade at Jerry Thomas Elementary was picked up by our uncle. Usually, my husband picks our son up everyday. Because our uncle doesn't drive, he picked our son up on his bicycle.
While our son was riding his bicycle home with our uncle along Toney Penna Drive in Jupiter, they were approached by an undercover female officer. The officer showed her badge to them and asked our uncle if she could take my son aside and speak with him. Our uncle said sure go right ahead. The officer questioned our son and asked him if he knew who our uncle was. Our son said yes, "that's my uncle". The officer took our son back to our uncle and said thank you. Our uncle knew just what the officer was doing and afterwards he thanked her as well.
I cannot begin to tell you how much this meant to our family. To know that there was an officer there doing her job and protecting our children in priceless!!!! This is a true meaning of Jupiter's "hometown feeling". I still cannot believe this happened! I only wish I knew the name of that officer so that I can thank her personally and let her superiors know what a great job she is doing protecting our children.
Sincerely,
Margaret Schobel
