The struggling economy appears incapable of depleting the will of South Floridians to help a special needs family renovate its cramped, deteriorating house.
Through local media coverage, including an article in the
Jupiter Courier, area residents were informed about the touching story of Rita and Les Gorenflo - who adopted seven children stricken with HIV, cerebral palsy and brain damage. Upon learning of the family's situation, the community's response surpassed our wildest expectations. Not only have so many 'strangers' come forward to provide monetary contributions, but also donate building materials, services and labor.
While considerable work lies ahead to make the house a comfortable home for the Gorenlfo's, we're optimistic that with the generous outpouring of community support we'll reach our goal of completing the project by the end of July.
On behalf of the renovation project committee and the Gorenflo's, we'd like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the growing number of silent heroes who are helping make the family's dream become a reality.
Sincerely,
