Moore rolls two 300 games setting Palm Beach County record...almost a state record.
Thursday April 19th, Harvey Moore, President of the Monday Night Maulers bowling league at Jupiter Lanes was feeling very relaxed after a day of fishing; little did he know he was in for a big night. While bowling with the Thursday Night Mixed League at Jupiter Lanes, he started out his set with a great pacesetting game of 279. After finishing his second game with a perfect 300 he thought "Maybe I can get my first 800 set if I keep my nose clean." He did more than that; he bowled another 300 giving him two perfect games in a row for a Palm Beach County Record score of 879. He was barely off the state record of 886 which is currently held by Bill Connors Jr.of Lakeland.
Jupiter resident Harvey Moore, 70 years old, served as an Air Craft Engineer in the Air Force before moving to Florida and getting married. Shortly thereafter in 1965 he put on his bowling shoes for what would be the first of 45 years bowling to date. Moore described the personal best and record setting experience as a 'great night...the people and the place...everything fell into place'. Moore is President of the Monday Night Maulers, a member of the Tuesday Night NBA League and substitutes for the Thursday Night Mixed League at Jupiter Lanes. In addition to bowling, Moore played throughout South Florida as a musician with the Sunstate Ramblers for almost 40 years.
Congratulations Harvey!
