Jupiter Middle Tops Independence

The Jupiter Middle School Mariners baseball team won their opening game 7-3 against in-town rival Independence Middle School on September 12.

The Mariners were led by three team members who played in the Babe Ruth World Series this summer. Jon Trujillo held Independence to three runs over the first four innings, allowing three hits while striking out five.

Ryan Plummer had two hits and scored two runs. Ryan Harris hit a homerun and pitched two scoreless innings to close out the game.

Andrew Chitty added a hit and scored a run while Craig Ober walked twice and scored.

The Jupiter Middle Mariners play the Middle School of the Arts on September 13.
