JPWMaroon Mustangs Chowed On The PBG Orange Gators

JPW Maroon Mustangs came into this game 4-0.They were facing the Palm Beach Gardens Orange team and hoping for yet another win.
Mustangs kicked off to the Gators. Right away are defense was on top of them. (Lineman #70 Corey Hunter, #65 Sean Thompson, #52 Anthony Powell,#3 Marcello Bertuzzelli, #8 Kyle McMullen, #16 Wyatt Walther, Corner #9 Makoa Maresca, #1 Alex Radli, #49 John Sweeney, #8 Kyle McMullen and #28 Brandon Murphy) On 1st down the Mustangs made it impossible for the Gatorsto get anywhere. 2nd down #28 Brandon Murphy, #1 Alex Radli and #8 Kyle McMullen made the tackle. #25 Chase Sanders made a huge play taking his man out and forcing the Gators into 4th down.Gators went for it and couldn't get the 1st down Mustangs took over possession.
The Mustangs were pumped. Our offensive line #95 Shane Roberts, #33 Blake Crumbley, #20 Zak Sprankle, #44 HunterRussoand#51 Jack Vandermeulen made some nice blocks allowing #16 Wyatt Waltherto handoff to #25 Chase Sanders who ran it in for 63 yardsfor atouchdown. 6-0 Mustangs.
Gators possession. Again, not able to get anywhere with our defense #11 Johnny Raich, #5 Reece Albert & #8 Kyle McMullen. #28 Brandon Murphy and #16 Wyatt Walther teamed up for a nice tackle on 1st down. #1 Alex Radli almost picked one off on a pass play. Gators were forced to go for it again on 4th down and the Mustangs stopped them.
Our offense was doing everything right. Then #25 Chase Sanders got ahold of the ball again and ran it in for another touchdown from the 45 yard line giving him a 108 yard total with 4:30 left in the 1st quarter.Kicker #3 Marcello Bertuzzelli made the extra points making it 14-0 Mustangs.
Gators felt the pressure of #53 Anthony Powell, #28 Brandon Murphy and #11 Johnny Raich as the Gators Quarterback fumbled the ball. Then #49 John Sweeney and #16 Wyatt Walther made the tackle forcing a kick by the Gators.
#8 Kyle McMullen handed off to #5 Reece Albert who was able to gain some yards for the Mustangs. As well #28 Brandon Murphy gained a few. Then #8 Kyle McMullen handed off to #28 Brandon Murphy who found a hole due to the blocks of #5 Reece Albert, #95 Shane Roberts, #51 Jack Vandermeulen, #66 Max Berger & #11 Johnny Raich as Brandon scored a touchdown from the 45 yard line. #3 Marcello Bertuzzelli's kick was good. 22-0 Mustangs at the end of the 1st quarter.
The Gators were stopped yet again by our defense during their next possession on every down. #92 Aaron Van Keuren and #33 Blake Crumbley made a nice tackle at the line of scrimmage.The Gators went for it on 4th and 8 but were notsuccessful.
#30 Dylan Weiss ran for 5 yards on a play. #33 Blake Crumbleywas able to geta first down for the Mustangs. Then #45 Coulter Karrwas also able to get afirst down at the Gators 20 yard line with 4:51 left in the first half. The Gators played tough and were able to stop us from scoring.
Our defense came out again.This time with #13 Dylan Hickok. #20 Zak Sprankle almost picked one off on 1st and 10.Then a huge play by #16 Wyatt Walther who made a big tackle in the back field for a loss of yards making it 4th and 15.Gators kicked and #25 Chase Sanders caught the punt at the 36 yard line. Then #25 Chase Sanders scored again but the ball was brought back due to a penalty. A few plays later from the 50 yard line #8 Kyle McMullen threw a long pass to #11 Johnny Raich who was able to make a beautiful catch and run it in for a touchdown from the 25 yard line. Gators were able to block the kick making it 28-0 Mustangs with 22 seconds left in the 1st half. #9 MakoaMaresca almost picked one off. #3 Marcello Bertuzzelli and # 28 Brandon Murphy made a nice tackle. Time runs down and #9 Makoa Maresca went for the tackle and #28 Brandon Murphy brought em down.
2nd half of the game Gators kicked off. Our offensive line #17 Jonathan Alarie, #66 Max Berger and #88 Nicholas Kearns made some nice blocks. Quarterback #16 Wyatt Walther made some nice plays to #92 Aaron Van Keuren for a few yards and to #50 Spencer Hoagland for a gain of 5. A little later #65 Sean Thompson recovered a Gators fumble. #1 Alex radli ran for a few yards. Gators recover a Mustangs fumble and our unstoppable defense came back out.
4th quarter3rd and 13 as #16 Wyatt Walther made a big hit for a loss a yards.#1 Alex Radli almost picked one off. It was 4th and 1 and Gators got the 1st down. Then #33 Blake Crumbley came in and put a stop on the play. #53 Anthony Powell made a nice tackle making it 4th & 6. Offsides by the Mustangs made it 4th and 1 on our 2 yard line. The Mustangs did not want the Gators to score with 24 seconds left inthe game and were able to stop them. Final Score 28-0 Mustangs. We are now 5-0....GO MUSTANGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
