On Saturday, October 10th in Palm Beach Gardens, the Jupiter Mustangs Mitey Mite Maroon (sponsored by Only Trees) defeated a worthy opponent, the Palm Beach Gardens Orange Team. The Mustangs lead by Bailey Stephanos, in one of his strongest rushing games of the season, ran, ran and ran some more. The O-line consisting of Tyler Payne, Ryan Cameron, Jacob Tuschman, Jacob Jenkins, Ricky Sheridan and Andrew Crumbley opened holes in a strong Gator front six. The two touchdowns scored by the Mustangs consisted of a trap play and a counter sweep run, both by Stephanos.
The Gators scored only once, early on, against the Mustang defense but was then shut down for the rest of the day. The middle was stuffed by Eddie Lawrence, Danny Alarie, Austin Jaffres, Joah Anderson and Aiden Martinez. The ends runs were eliminated by "shut down" corners, Peyton Sukhu, Tanner Waldron, Gracen Vecchio and Nick Taplett as well as the Mustangs "Last Of The Line" Defense Safeties Chase Thomas and Alec Bussey.
Jake Garland showed off his golden arm on 2 big completions to continue drives. The big surprise of the day was the return of "Action" Jackson Jacobs, returning from an injury sustained during week 2 of the season. Jackson played several positions on Saturday and was stellar in each and everyone.
Final score was 12-8. Way to go Mitey Mite Maroon!
