JPW Maroon Mustangs Won The War w/ The LW Warriors

The JPW Maroon Mustangs were 6-0 for the season and prepared for yet another battle against the Lake Worth Warriors.
28 Brandon Murphy kicked off to the Warriors down to their 40 yard line. On 1st down Brandon Murphy made the tackle putting a stop on the play where they only gained a yard. Our defensive line 33 Blake Crumbley, 30 Dylan Weiss, 16 Wyatt Walther and 1 Alex Radli were immediately able to shut them down as well as 8 Kyle McMullen, 9 Makoa Maresca and 25 Chase Sanders. On 2nd and 9- Kyle McMullen made a beautiful pass interception and was brought down at the 45 yard line. The Mustangs were pumped!
Our offensive line 44 Hunter Russo, 5 Reece Albert, 11 Johnny Raich, 92 Aaron Van Keuren, 95 Shane Roberts, 51 Jack Vandermeulen and 66 Max Berger were all able to make some nice blocks allowing 33 Blake Crumbley to take the ball and run gaining 5 yards on 1st down. Both 45 Koulter Karr and 25 Chase Sanders were also able to make some running plays but the Warriors kept us from getting the 1st down we needed. Warriors tookover possession.
Right away #9 Makoa Maresca came in and made a nice tackle for 2nd and 6.
The Mustangs defense was ready for anything as 30 Dylan Weiss and 5 Reece Albert made a huge tackle for a Warriors loss of 4 yards. The Warriors were forced to kick on 4th down and Mustangs Kyle McMullen took it to the Mustangs own 33.
The Warriors defense was proving to be tough. However, 28 Brandon Murphy gained a few yards on a play and on 3rd down 16 Wyatt Walther threw a beautiful pass complete to 20 Zak Sprankle for a Mustangs 1st down. Moments later we faced some penalties that left us at 1st and 20. Then Reece Albert made a big play gaining 12 yards as the 1st quarter ended.
2nd QTR- Our offense 42 Tanner Vecchio, 30 Dylan Weiss and 44 Hunter Russo again able to make some nice blocks.On 2nd and 7 Reece Albert again took the ball and was able to get the team another 1st down. Then Wyatt Walther handed the ball off to Brandon Murphy for a gain of 5 yards. The Warriors continued the war not allowing the Mustangs to get a 1st down. Warriors tookover possession at their own 45.
Our defense including 65 Sean Thompson and 70 Corey Hunter had not allowed the Warriors to get a single 1st down yet in the game as it was winding down to halftime. Brandon Murphy and 13 Dylan Hickok teamed up for a nice tackle on a play and16 Wyatt Walther, Blake Crumbley, Dylan Weiss, Aaron Van Keuren, Zak Sprankle, Chase Sanders, Reece Albert and Kyle McMullen forced the Warriors into another 4th down position where they just could not get passed our defense for a 1st down. Mustangs tookover.
Offensive blocks by 17 Jonathan Alarie, 42 Tanner Vecchio, 88 Nicholas Kearns, 50 Spencer Hoagland allowed Kyle McMullen to hand off to Chase Sanders for a gain of a few but the Warriors defense turned up the heat not allowing a Mustangs 1st down. Warriors tookover.
The Warriors were able to get their first 1st down of the game just before the half at the Mustangs 25 yard line. With a false start against them they were faced with 1st and 15 when 25 Chase Sanders made a huge interception making it 1st and 10 for the Mustangs at their own 15 yard line. Halftime.
A litlle into the second half both teams were fighting for any yards. Aaron Van Keuren made a nice tackle. As well as Reece Albert and Brandon Murphy. Then Dylan Hickok made a big stick to one of the Warriors causing an injury timeout. A few minutes later on 4th down Blake Crumbley made a huge play that blocked the Warriors punt at the 44.
Our offense was pushing downfield as Reece Albert gained 4 yards on 1st down.On 2nd down Wyatt Walther handed off to Brandon Murphy for a 1st down. # 66 Max Berger hiked the ball to WyattWalther who handed off to Brandon Murphy for a gain of 7 yards.Then, Reece Albert got the 3 for another 1st down. Next play, again Reece gaining a few yards. Then Brandon Murphy gets a 1st down. It was 1st and goal at the 3 yard line. Finally, the Mustangs get the first touchdown of the game as # 28 Brandon Murphy ran it 3 yards in for a TOUCHDOWN! Mustangs miss the kick making it 6-0 near the end of the3rd quarter. GO MUSTANGS!!!!!
Into the 4th quarter Warriors again having trouble gaining any yards against 49 John Sweeney and our entire Mustangs defense. However, they were at 3rd and 1 and got the first down. Brandon Murphy and Reece Albert made some nice tackles giving up no yards. At 4th and 9 the Warriors had to kick again taking us down to our own 8 yard line.
Brandon Murphy ran for a few yards on a play and then was able to get a 1st down. Then Reece Albert ran for 9 yards. Followed by Reece Albert again getting the Mustangs another 1st down. Then the Warriors recovered a fumble and tookover possession. Chase Sanders made a big tackle on 1st down. Then Dylan Hickok and Wyatt Walther stopped the ball carrier. On 4th and 3 the Warrior's couldn't get it done allowing the Mustangs to takeover possession.
Time was running out but not before Brandon Murphy was able to get another 1st down for the Mustangs. Then Reece Albert gained a yard with 59 seconds left in the game. It was 3rd and 6 and Brandon Murphy made a huge running play and ran the ball 45 yards down to the Warriors 15 yard line. The War ended with another Mustangs win over the Lake Worth Warriors now leaving us 7-0 for the season. Undeafeated as we head into our next game on October 24th against the Palm Beach Shamrocks. GO MUSTANGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
