Baseball

• Marlins players Miguel Cabrera, Alex Fernandez, Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez, Fish broadcaster Tommy Hutton and former Major League player Jerry Royster will all make appearances at the Tommy Hutton Baseball Academy summer camp this year at Roger Dean Stadium. ¶

There will be 10 weekly summer baseball camps from June 4-8 through July 30 to Aug. 3. The camp is boys and girls 6 to 14 years old. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. ¶

• The Jupiter Parks and Recreation Department and Jupiter High School will offer two weeks of youth summer basketball camps on June 18-22 and June 25-29 at the school. ¶

The camp is open to youngsters between 4 and 12 years old. Campers between 4 and 8 years old will go from 9 a.m. to noon. Players in the 9-12 age group will go from 1 to 4 p.m. ¶

The weekly camp for boys from sixth to eighth grades is offered June 11 (4 to 8 p.m. - $120) and June 18 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - $185). A session for boys in ninth to 12 grades is the week of June 25. The fee is $90. ¶

A camp for girls from fifth to ninth grades will be offered the week of June 4 at the Kehl Campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fee is $185. ¶

• The Palm Beach Gardens Community Services Department is offering a one-

day cheerleading program on Saturday's from May 19 to July 21 at Mirasol Park for girls 7 to 14 years old. ¶

The program starts at 9 a.m. Cost is $40 for residents and $48 for non-residents. ¶

They are also offering a week-long camp on July 2-6 (no July 4th session) from 9 a.m. to noon for girls 7-14. Cost is $60 for residents and $78 for nonresidents. ¶

The camp for kids between 6 and 14, will go from 9 a.m. to noon. Dwyer coach Jack Daniels and his staff will run the camp. Instructors include current and former NCAA Div. 1 players. ¶

• Jupiter Christian School will host the Fast and Furious Full Contact Football Camp on June 11-14. The camp is open to players entering the third through eighth grades this fall. ¶

Sessions are 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The camp is under the direction of JCS head football coach Bill Powers. Cost is $225. Campers need a helmet, shoulder pads, mouthpiece, football pants, pads and cleats. Helmets and shoulder pads can be rented for $25 (or free to JCS and JTAA Mustangs players). ¶

The school is also offering a Fast and Furious quarterback and receivers camp on July 10-12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for players in the third through eighth grades. Cost is $225. ¶

• Jupiter Dunes Golf Club will conduct another summer camp for youngsters between 6 and 14 years old. Two sessions are offered - June 11-29 and July 9-27. Camps are Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. ¶

Each session will be followed by a tournament - June 30 and July 11 for the first session and July 28 and 29 for the second session. ¶

Surfing

‡¤The Blue Wave School of Surfing will have weekly youth summer camps from June 4 through Sept. 3 in Jupiter. ¶

Cost is $205 for a weekly session, but discounts are available for addition family members. ¶

The camp is for youngsters between 6 and 16 years old. Daily sessions are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Classes include surfboards and all necessary surfing gear. Each student will receive a gift bag which includes surfboard wax, stickers, posters and a t-shirt. ¶

On Fridays, students will participate in a surfing contest (according to surf conditions) for trophies and prizes. ¶
