On November 4th, swimmers with the
North County Masters of Jupiter participated in the 20th Annual
Senior Games presented by Martin County Parks & Recreation at the Martin County H.S. pool. The group entered 35 events winning 33 gold medals and 2 silver medals.
Leading the North County Wahoo was
Snag Holmes who swam in every swimming events and placed 1st in all 18 races in the 80-84 age group.
Bob Bertrand had 6 first place finishes in all the freestyle and backstroke events in the 60-64 age group.
Marc Sickle had 6 wins in the 55-59 age group swimming the 25 fly, 50 fly, 50 freestyle, 50 breastroke, 100 freestyle, and 100 individual medley.
David Weychert finished 1st in the 50 & 100 fly and 2nd in the 25 fly.
Leona Bertrand finished 1st in the 50 freestyle and 2nd in the 25 freestyle in the Women's 60-64 age group. All five swimmers qualified for the Florida Senior Games State Championships to be held in December in Lee County.
The North County Masters train at early morning swimming workouts at the North County Aquatic Complex, 861 Toney Penna Dr., Jupiter. The program is open to all adult swimmers (fitness, triathlete, competitive, non-competitive) who are dedicated to improving their fitness through swimming.
