India Adventure continues to Varanasi
Contributed by: Penny Sheltz on 4/30/2008

Varanasi is the oldest inhabited city in the world and one of India's seven holiest city and the holiest cities in Hinduism culture. It earns its fame as being home to the Ganges River, a pilgrimage point for the Hindus. So we were anxious to fly to Varanasi and visit this famous city.
We arrived on Indian Air and on our way to the hotel we pass many vendors selling fruits and veggies in the streets and of course more cows walking around.
We check in to our hotel, have dinner and anxiously await our early morning sunrise boat ride on the Ganges.
Varanassi sees millions of pilgrims every year. So the morning tour will give us a glimpse into the daily lives of Hinduism followers as thousands of people come to bathe in the muddy Ganges river and cremate bodies by the river banks. So check out my next hub posting.
