The 10U Jupiter Hammerheads swept a doubleheader from the Tradition Mets on Sunday February 11 in Stuart winning 12-7 and 15-8.

The Hammerheads struck early in both games, opening the first game with nine runs in the top of the first inning and scoring nine runs in the first two innings of the nightcap.

Massimo Bertuzzelli, Drew Lipscher, Jake Lolmaugh, Justin Pittman, and Robert Valdez all made their travel team debut with the 10U Hammerheads. Lipscher drove in two runs and scored two runs. Pittman added a double and two RBI.

The Hammerheads leading hitter for the doubleheader was Nicholas Horvath, with four hits, four RBI, and four runs. Leadoff batter Noah Meltzer set the table, reaching base four times, scoring four runs, and stealing four bases. The Hammerheads power was supplied by Mack Lemieux, who smacked two doubles (one that reached the 215 foot fence in center field) and scored three runs. Joey Merendino reached base four times, scored two runs, and stole two bases. Jordi Sallent chipped in with two hits and three runs. Brando Centrone scored two runs and stole two bases. Tyler Bowman smacked a double and scored two runs.

On the mound in game one, Bruce Steel and Nick Horvath combined to strike out nine Mets in five innings. Steel also drove in three runs and stole two bases in the doubleheader.

In game two, Mack Lemieux allowed one run in the first two innings on only 17 pitches, thanks in part to catcher Nick Horvath throwing out two Mets trying to steal bases. Brock Minich closed out the last inning and a third with four strikeouts. Minich also contributed three hits at the plate.

The Hammerheads next game is Friday night February 16 th against the Worth Pioneers in Stuart.
