The Workforce Development Board of the Treasure Coast recently recognized eight employees for achieving top performance standards at the Annual All-Staff Meeting, which was held on June 20, 2008 in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Additionally, at the 2008 Annual Board Meeting on June 25, Caren Belowch, Facilities Manager, was awarded the 2008 President's Challenge Award for exceeding all goals and displaying exemplary performance that resulted in significant benefit to the organization.
"Caren can be counted on to complete any task on time, if not earlier. She consistently seeks ways to reduce costs and helps administrators keep costs in line. She literally keeps our offices humming, anticipates our needs and ensures they are met," explained Gwenda Thompson, President/CEO. "In 2008 we downsized two Career Centers and through her efforts, we completed the task on schedule. Whenever there is a facilities problem, she is our go-to person. I am very proud to have her on our team!"
Employees recognized for top performance at the All-Staff Meeting include:
Top Performer in Administration Award to Cathy Noel, Vice President of Programs and Services, for her contributions toward the Business Improvement Plan and for teaching other staff how to measure performance and drill down to the minute parts of the performance.
Programs Award to JoAnna McHugh, Programs Director for the Board, for her efforts in leading the Welfare Transition team in achieving significant performance improvement over the past six months.
Business Services Award to Paula Hosein, Business Services Consultant for Martin County, for her outstanding performance in Business Services including volunteering to become a Ready to Work profiler and assisting in numerous Employed Worker Training projects, such as the Manufacturer's Extension Partnership.
Okeechobee Career Center Award to John Gurney, Business Services Consultant, for his outstanding service to Okeechobee employers and the community in general and for being instrumental in streamlining Career Center services in the Okeechobee Career Center.
Stuart Career Center Award to Elizabeth Martinez, Arbor E & T, for her outstanding performance in serving clients and employers in Martin County.
St. Lucie Career Center Award to Toyanna Platt, Branch Manager for the St. Lucie County Career Center, for her outstanding performance to employers in placing job orders through our Employ Florida system.
Vero Beach Career Center Award to Donna Reed, Placement Consultant with the Agency for Workforce Innovation, for her outstanding service to clients in Indian River County and handling the daily duties of a coworker due to an unforeseen illness of a coworker.
Ft. Pierce Career Center Award to Shari Defriest, Business Account Representative, for her quality customer service - working with employers to manage their accounts and going the extra mile by job matching in the system and referring qualified candidates to jobs. As a part of the call center team she has continuously increased the employer satisfaction rating to exceed state-mandated standards.
Center Management Award to John Dinger, Branch Manager for the Stuart Career Center and Interim Manager for Vero Beach Center, for his efforts in managing two offices and leading the Vero Center which had top Welfare Transition performance.
