The Workforce Development Board teamed up with new and existing Treasure Coast employers to fill over 230 new job positions.
Three job fairs conducted by the Workforce Development Board recently matched prescreened, qualified job applicants with 230 new job positions at three new employers in Indian River County.
"This success is the result of the Board working with new employers coming into the area to fill positions that range from entry-level to management before they even open their doors,"cited Gwenda Thompson, President/CEO.
From 55 to 110 positions were filled with job applicants that were prescreened
For the employer, the Workforce Development Board provides employee recruitment services and other high-quality, value-added services through the strategic utilization of government funding related to training incentives and customized training. For the job seeker, they provide a delivery mechanism that matches the right individuals to the job - connecting the employer to the job seeker. Additionally, the Business Services team coordinates and assists with special events for both the employer and job seeker, such as job fairs, focus groups, and reemployment and emergency assistance for layoffs.
The Workforce Development Board of the Treasure Coast is a private, 501(c) 3 nonprofit corporation that coordinates workforce solutions for Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. The mission of the Board is to build an integrated workforce development system for jobseekers and employers by analyzing labor market needs, effectively and efficiently coordinating the delivery of resources, programs and services, and evaluating the results for accountability.
