Okeechobee Main Street Mural Program
Contributed by: Karen Hanawalt on 5/4/2007

Okeechobee Main Street presented Haynes and Susan Williams with their official Mural Plaque. The mural "Williams Cattle Drive 1937" is the first in a series of murals planned by the Main Street Mural and Visual Arts Committee. The Mural depicting a cattle drive across Okeechobee County can be seen on the Haynes Williams buiding located on 441 North. The second mural project, sponsored by the Okeechobee Historical Society, depicts the history of the railroad and catfishing industry. This mural will be completed by the end of May and can be seen on the Jeff Robinson Electric building on the corner of Park and 441 South. For more information about our mural program and other Main Street activites, call Karen Hanawalt, Program Manager, at 863-357-6246.
