DON'T BE "SPOOKED" ON THE WATER!
Contributed by: Terry Barth, FSO-PA on 9/24/2007

Just in time for Halloween, you can learn the "tricks" of safe boating if you "treat" yourself by attending the Saturday, October 20th ABC course given by the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Fort Pierce.

The America's Boating course is designed especially for the recreational boater to encourage safety on the water. Enjoy your boating experience more by learning the rules of the waterway. Learn how to identify potentially dangerous situations and how to manage them. Be aware of the waterway signs, markings, what they mean and how to negotiate them. Learn basic docking techniques, navigation rules and survival skills.

This course is State approved for those under 22 to obtain their Florida State Boaters License. Also, many insurance companies will offer a discount once the course has been taken and passed.

Courses are held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Flotilla 58 Coast Guard Auxiliary Building at 1400 Seaway Drive, Fort Pierce Fl. 34949. There is a fee of $36.00 to cover materials. Additional family members are $10.00 per person.

For more information, or to register call 772-465-8128 and leave a message and phone number.
Hope to see you there!!!
