Waldau's Junior Golf held their annual Junior Golf Clinic during the week of June 18-22, 2007. Twenty young golfers ages 8 - 13 participated in the weeklong clinic held at the Okeechobee Golf & Country Club. This very popular clinic teaches not only the basics of golf, but also teaches the rules of etiquette and good sportsmanship.
Jim Waldau and his wife Bridgette have been running this clinic for many years. All of the young participants not only enjoyed playing golf they also received educational items, daily goody bags, and tournament shirts. There were wonderful door prizes and two lucky youngsters received a set of clubs.
Each year former students and young members of the highschool golf team help with the clinic and give back what they have learned. The Waldau's also utilize the talents of local golf instructors.
Each year Jim and Bridgette host a golf tournament and dance party. The proceeds from this much anticipated event provide many highschool seniors scholarships. They also donate to the Okeechobee High School Golf Team.
