Blog Entry 2 of 2 Travels With Ellie

This blog will be about the places I "travel to" on a daily basis and trips that I take with friends that belong to to YaYA Ladies, Tropical Trekkers chapter of the Florida TRail Association, and relatives as well. I camp, kayak and enjoy the out-of-doors, reveling in the natural world and the many sometimes hidden delights it holds for us. A tiny flower weed found in your lawn is as perfect in formation as an orchid you will admire hanging in a tree. I may not like an up-close and personal encounter with an insect,snake or alligator, but they ae still interesting to observe...and for me to photograph. Traveling on the river, or hiking in the woods provides awe inspiring scenery that pictures cannot always capture, but evoke memories of absolute beauty. It would be my hope that I could enable others to see something beautiful even in the mundane sights of daily life.

NINCY AND I ARE ON OUR WAY. We are in the suburbs ofDayton, Ohio staying at her sister Kathleen's home. Today we visited the Clifford Inn for luncheon and then it was off to the Clifford Gorge to photograph the raging water as it slueused through the rock formations. Wild phlox lines the pathways here and delight the eye.

Tomorrow we head for Detroit, Michigan to Cabela's. Then it to the Michigan Sand Dunes before heading to Sault St. Marie to connect with the other folks that are making up our caravan.

Ellie, I found your blog site and will enjoy all. The river trip info was wonderful. Barbara has kept us informed but good to hear all the details. C. Beckett
