GiftRAP Awarded "Best Places to Work" Designation

GiftRAP Health Care Solutions, a software company in Palm City, was named one of Martin County's "Best Places to Work" last week, one of only three companies in the category of "fewer than 50 employees" and one of only nine companies total in the county to receive this prestigious designation.

"Best Places to Work" is sponsored by the Human Resource Management Association of Martin County (HR Martin County), which requires that winning organizations meet rigorous requirements.

"We are thrilled to be recognized as a great place to work," said Steve Mackie, president and founder of GiftRAP, which develops and markets software for physical rehabilitation providers, nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities nation-wide. Mackie is known for his daily trips through the office to greet every employee by name and his democratic management style.

"If anyone deserves the credit for winning this award it's our employees," continued Mackie. "We think we have the finest people in the industry working for us, and we try to let them know how much we appreciate them by creating a positive, rich and rewarding environment to help them thrive. We know that when employees are happy they are more productive, and this benefits our customers as well as our bottom line."

Among the criteria which led to GiftRAP's recognition was the fact that they spent more time and money training employees in the past year than any other company surveyed by HR Martin County.

GiftRAP also provides Wii games for relaxation during lunch and holds frequent Wii tournaments to keep an element of fun in the job. The company's lunchroom is stocked with no-charge sodas, coffee and snacks, and every Friday the company treats employees to lunch. Employees are encouraged to take advantage of free weekly chair massages and offered paid outings to professional baseball and football games.

GiftRAP was founded in 1992 in Palm Beach County. In 2007 the company moved to Martin County. It currently has 40 employees.
