T...I...G...E...R!... MCHS Homecoming Parade especially enthusiastic this year!
Stuart, FL - On Thursday, October 2, 2009, the Martin County High School (MCHS) Marching Band, "Tiger Regiment" followed the Martin County School District/Board officials and Employee as well as Teacher of the Year in the 2009 Homecoming Parade in Downtown Stuart. This year, participants and spectators were especially enthusiastic since the Football team is looking at their 3rd win in the Homecoming Football game at MCHS Friday, October 2, 2009.
Under the direction of
Rob Roadman (MCHS Band Director) and
Rob Souza (MCHS Tiger Regiment Drum Major), the Band helped to open the festivities with their rousing version of "Eye of the Tiger."
Looks like we have much to celebrate and look forward to at MCHS this year! The Award-winning Band, Florida Band Masters Association (FBA) Hall of Fame Band Director, and now a winning football team! Life could not be better for a tiger on the Treasure Coast.
Due to the complex nature of the quality of the marching band program at MCHS, the students willingly give literally hundreds of hours of additional rehearsal time outside of class; and their hard-work shows. The MCHS Band program has consistently received high honors at the FBA District Marching Festival every year for decades. It is no wonder that just this past year, the MCHS "Tiger Regiment" was invited to perform at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City.
The Martin County Band Boosters would like to thank all of the parents and business partners that assist with chaperoning, and running the MCHS home football game concession stand, and continually supporting the outstanding music programs at MCHS. It looks to be another award-winning year for the "Tiger Regiment," and the band will live up to its motto, "
S.U.D.A. ~ Spirit, Unity, Determination, and Attitude."
The Tiger Regiment is looking forward to "away" game against South Fork High School that will be held at JBHS this year on October 9, 2009; participating in the Crown Jewel Marching Band Festival in Okeechobee on October 17, 2009; and the next home football game scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2009; and the Music Performance Assessment (MPA) District 13 Marching Band Assessments at JBHS November 7, 2009.
