HOBE SOUND, FL - The Hidden Oaks Middle School (HOMS) Band Program, under the direction of Allen Gilbert "rocked" the spectators of the South Fork High School Homecoming Parade in the streets of downtown Hobe Sound on Monday evening.

The HOMS Marching Band is composed of students from 6th through 8th grade from the Concert, Intermediate and Symphonic Bands at Hidden Oaks Middle School in Palm City. The Marching Band played "Smoke on the Water" and "In the Midnight Hour" along with several of the six [6] cadences performed by the HOMS "O.C.P.D. "crew" Drum line.

With an interruption by Tropical weather this year, the normally very early start to this Parade season gave the Hidden Oaks Middle School Marching Band a little more time to rehearse. Under the direction of, Mr. Allen Gilbert, Director of the HOMS Band Programs would like to extend his sincere appreciation to all of the students, parents, volunteers, chaperones and refreshment coordinators for making this event possible for our children.

............."Last night was another one of those times when the commitment, dedication, love, and compassion that our band parents have for their children and for the HOMS Band Program. I don't know if my band students realize how helpful you are, but I certainly do. Thanks to all who helped in any capacity. All local past and present members of any of the Armed Forces, EMT, Emergency Management, Fire Rescue, Police, and Sheriff's Department are welcome to attend the Annual Hidden Oaks Middle School Memorial Veteran's Day Concert held at Hidden Oaks Middle School on Monday, November 10, 2008. Students, faculty, Chorus and Band programs would like to extend their appreciation for your efforts with this very special memorial concert. {Please call the HOMS office for details at: 219-1655}.

Please show your support by becoming involved with the Annual Holdiay Breakfast/Silent Auction. This is the ONLY Fundraiser that is held for the HOMS Band Program and also supports the Color Guard Program. This year, the event will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008.
