Open Heavens Center invites children and their parents to Ignite the Arts, a free art workshop to be held 10am-12:30pm, Saturday, 10/20 at the Leighton Community Center. Award winning artist Lynda Finch and local artist Pastor Lynne Barletta will teach children and their families how to draw on the right side of the brain with a program they developed for the public schools in Denver Colorado, called "Art Taught by Artists". There will be live demonstrations as well as "hands on drawing" for ages 5 to adult. Pastor Mary Williams from Hobe Sound will teach jewelry making and musician Efrain Chura, a Native American with over 200 hand made flutes will also be presenting his well known cultural music. Coffee and snacks will be available.
At 7:00 PM that evening there will be a regional gathering with the regional worship team and special guest speaker from Singapore, George Butron. George oversees thousands of missions and churches in Asia. He was seemingly dead of a drug overdose at age 17, but came back to life and radically turned to God. George has been instrumental in the rescue of many orphans, and an astounding revival throughout Cambodia. The community is welcome to attend this exciting service at Leighton Community Center, 2701 SW Cornell Ave. Palm City.
