Each year, Disney invites bonsai enthusiasts to submit photos of their prized bonsai trees to a selection committee. This committee studies the attributes of each tree and selects the bonsai trees deemed outstanding for the coveted opportunity of displaying them during the Flower Festival at Epcot.
This year 2 talented bonsai artists were thrilled to have their trees selected. Robert Pinder of Dragon Tree Bonsai Nursery on Honey Terrace in Palm City is proud to have his youpon holly displayed under the gate in front of the Japan pavilion.
Patrick Giacobbe of Port St. Lucie is equally proud to have his red cedar on the pedestal right next to Robert's and his dwarf black olive beautifully displayed in front of the China pavilion. Robert and Patrick were invited to Epcot last week to take part in the setup of the bonsai exhibit. Both of these dedicated artists have been training bonsai trees for more than 15 years.
