Seacoast Supports SafeSpace Children

SafeSpace Children Receive Back Packs
from Seacoast National Bank

Twenty-two children are carrying new back packs to school this year, thanks to support from employees at Seacoast National Bank in Martin County.

The children are residents of SafeSpace, living in the facility with their mothers, who are victims of domestic abuse. Seacoast staff members decided to support the children by presenting fully-packed back packs and additional school supplies to replenish the back packs.

"The children will be able to use the back packs and will share them with other children," explained Eileen Hatt, Vice President / Regional Retail Manager in Martin County. "We are grateful for the generosity of our employees to provide more school supplies than the back packs could hold. SafeSpace will use the remainder of supplies throughout the school year."

SafeSpace is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit United Way organization, serving victims of domestic abuse in Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin Counties. The facility provides emergency shelter and outreach services to individuals who have not entered a shelter but whose lives are being affected by domestic violence.

The operating arm of Seacoast Banking Corporation of Florida (NASDAQ: SBCF) Seacoast National Bank has 41 offices in Florida and approximately $2.3 billion in assets, and is one of the largest independent banks headquartered in Florida.
