GOT STUFF? COMMUNITY YARD SALE RAISES $1690 for MOLLY'S HOUSE
STUART, FL - Many organizations and individuals woke-up early on July 11 th to participate in the 2 nd Annual Community Yard Sale on the Treasure Coast. By 8 a.m. residents from the Treasure Coast were finding treasures from all the booths set up in the parking lot of Hometown News, Ft. Pierce. For Molly's House, this Yard Sale idea helped raise $1400 this summer to help continue our mission of "Keeping Families Together" during a medical crisis.
This year a raffle was organized with many wonderful items donated by the community. The Wal Mart Distribution Center, Mr. Davis offered two 32" flatscreen TV's, one for the raffle and one to be placed at Molly's House. The check amount also includes a $500 donation from the Wal Mart Distribution Center, Ft. Pierce.
Molly's House will use the funds to for our Adopt a Family program which helps families who may not be able to make a donation to Molly's House for their lodging. According to Louise Murtaugh, Executive Director for Molly's House thirty percent of the families Molly's House has helped, are unable to make a donation. Through the generous support of the community thirty additional families will be helped by the funds raised at the Community Yard Sale.
