Fort Pierce, FL, August 13, 2009 - Make sure to save the date for the Treasure Coast Food Bank's fifth annual Fete du Vin event, scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2009 in the beautiful Town of Tradition. The fun begins at 6 p.m. with culinary delights prepared by the Treasure Coast's best chefs, fine wines, a martini bar, mimosas sponsored by Orchid Island Juice Company, and a dessert café to delight the most delicate palate. Live music and dancing as well as silent and live auctions will be featured throughout the evening. Black-tie attire is optional. The BackPack Ball, co-sponsored by Scripps Luminaries, raises funds for the BackPack Program, which is designed to meet the needs of hungry children across our area at times when free and reduced-price meals are not available.
Resources are scarce in this tight economy, and many children would go hungry on weekends and school vacations if not for the BackPack Program. The funds raised at the BackPack Ball will directly impact the lives of children across the Treasure Coast who receive backpacks filled with nutritious, child-friendly foods.
